Cadillac Magnetic Ride Control™: A Closer Look

Now that we’ve answered the questions “What is Magnetic Ride Control™?” we can help you get an in-depth look at how this feature really works:

  • Cadillac Magnetic Ride Control™ uses independent electronic sensors in each wheel in order to check road conditions up to 1,000 times per second.
  • Every 5 milliseconds, Magnetic Ride Control™ can adjust your vehicle’s suspension in order to provide a smoother, more secure ride.
  • What distinguishes Cadillac Magnetic Ride Control™ from other adaptive suspension systems? It’s simple: Instead of relying on mechanical valves, your Cadillac employs shock fluid infused with magnetic particles.
  • When you require a firmer ride, Magnetic Ride Control™ emits a magnetic field which lines up and collects these particles together. In scenarios where a looser suspension is desirable, the magnetic field lessens in intensity.
  • The result is the fastest adaptive suspension system available in any vehicle today. Mechanical valves simply can’t keep up with the simplicity and effectiveness of this magnetorheological system.
